	The STC-45/OITC-37 rated acoustical smoke vent is the newest addition to our superior line of smoke vents. Babcock-Davis's innovative two-door construction offers many advantages over the conventional four-door design. Designed for ease of installation, our smoke vent requires fewer field adjustments than a traditional four-door model. The Babcock-Davis acoustical smoke vent can be connected to the building's life safety system. After a fire drill, a person on the roof can safely close the two doors from the top of the vent, or by using a 3-button control from as far away as the basement. Once the alarm system has been tested, it is easy to reset the smoke vent over and over again. Our smoke vent walls are constructed of a high-technology composite of acoustical materials, which blocks sound more efficiently than the insulation that our competitors use in their smoke vent walls. This composite material in the walls, in combination with our specially designed gasketing system between the cover and the curb, provides maximum sound attenuation. STC-36 also available. STC-45 SERIES
Cover & Liner: 14-gauge galvanized steel.
Curb: 14-gauge galvanized steel with 13" double wall curb.
Hinge: Heavy duty zinc-plated steel with non-removable pins.
Latch: Positive hold release mechanism designed to hold the covers closed against 30 psf of uplift force. Released by manual pull cables or by fusible melt-out link. Optional: Electric/thermal resettable link.
Spring: Heavy-duty steel compression springs designed to open vent covers automatically aginst 10 psf of wind or a snow load when released. Double door models come with greased compression springs enclosed in telescopic tubes.
Hardware: Heavy-duty shock absorbers, continuous extruded thermal EPDM gasketing, inside and outside manual release cables.
Insulation: 3" thick acoustic insulation in the cover and 1.75" in the curb perimeter.
Mounting Flange: 2½" on double wall curb.
U.L. Listing: Both the fusible melt-out link and McCabe electric/thermal link are UL listed. Vent UL listed 793 standard. See size chart for UL/FM listed models.
Finish: Factory applied powder coat.
