Floor Doors: Interior: Recessed: BFT-Series

The BFT series is perfect for high visibility interior areas where access through the floor is necessary in pedestrian areas. BFTA Series recessed aluminum floor doors are intended for infill of 1/8" VCT / carpet.

Babcock-Davis BFT-Series: Interior, recessed floor doors provide access through openings in interior floors.

Babcock-Davis BFTA Aluminum recessed floor doors are constructed with lift springs and a slam latch for ease of use. We do not recommend BFT Series floor hatches for ceramic tile applications. Please consult a representative for alternative product.

Door: 
1/4" smooth aluminum plate

Frame: 
1/4" extruded aluminum angle frame

Hinge:
Type 316 Stainless steel butt hinge

Spring:
Type 316 Stainless steel compression springs enclosed in tubes, which counterbalance the door to require no more than 10-30 lbs. of opening force

Latch:
Type 316 Stainless steel slam latch with an inside lever handle and an outside removable key handle

Finish:
Mill finish. Frames provided with protective epoxy coating at areas that contact concrete

Hold-Open:
Type 316 Stainless steel handle that automatically locks the door at 90 degrees when opened. Handle can be released with one hand for easy operation

300 psf Standard Load Capacity
Optional: H-20 load capacity
