Babcock-Davis' photoluminescent (glow-in-the-dark) stair treads and nosings are designed to keep building occupants safe while exiting the building in an emergency. The stair treads and nosings are filled with photoluminescent silicon carbide and epoxy mixture to create an anti-slip surface that illuminates stairways in the event of an emergency.

All photoluminescent treads require exposure from UV or natural daylight to charge the material.
